“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ: that everyone may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.” -2 Corinthians 5:10.
With people dying everyday, I have sat and wondered about the assurance I have of the promise of life after death. “Will I really go to the Lord‘s bosom when I lay this earthly tabernacle to rest?” We need to give answer to this question. Today, believers as though they are immune to death, everyone is going to die some day, and that includes you.
We all need to ask ourselves this question, “Will we really spend our eternity with God considering the way we lived our lives thus far?”. We also need to give our honest answer too. The Bible says, that no unclean thing shall ever come before the presence of God, for “without holiness it is impossible to see God” (Heb. 12:14).
Are you still caught up with cheating, telling lies, fornicating, anger, lust etc, and you think it doesn’t matter? If it doesn’t matter now, when will it then matter? Is it when you’re dead? Think of your life! Maybe I should let you know that anything that takes God’s place in your heart and life is idolatry. No man will ever enter God’s kingdom with his natural, sinful life, abilities, wealth, glamour, extravagance and sophistication. Man may applaud you in sin, but if God doesn’t – you’re in big trouble!
There is a constant need for us to continually purge our lives of every filth and the remains of the old man, for the Bible enjoins us to work out our salvation with fear and trembling.
If any man thinks he stands let him take heed lest he falls (1 Cor. 10:12). We can only stand and remain steadfast in faith when we live constantly in the fear of the Lord.
As we get ready in the spirit of Christmas, let’s not forget that Jesus is coming soon. In a time like this, the devil moves to and fro looking for whom he may devour, so, beloved, be sober and prayerful. Keep the fire burning! Quench not the Spirit.
Merry Christmas and a glorious New Year in advance:)
